Introducing Power IQ 9.1

We’re proud to announce the general availability of Power IQ® 9.1, the latest version of Sunbird’s DCIM Monitoring software. This release includes exciting new features including load shift detection, enhanced Raritan and Server Technology bulk firmware update, and residual current monitoring (RCM) Type B.

Power IQ 9.1 Availability

This Power IQ 9.1 update is available worldwide on a subscription or perpetual license basis to all customers with valid maintenance contracts. Download the update file from Sunbird’s support portal to upgrade today.

What’s New in Power IQ 9.1

The following features are new or enhanced in Power IQ 9.1 for an easy, fast, and complete second-generation DCIM solution.

Load Shift Detection

Load Shift Detection uses outlet-metered data to detect when a power supply may have failed for an IT device.

Power IQ detect when there is a sustained drop in load on one outlet connected to a device, but the overall device load does not drop significantly, indicating that power has shifted from one outlet to another. When Power IQ detects a load shift, it generates an alert, so you can investigate the issue. An outlet load shift could indicate a power supply failure.

Enhanced Raritan and Server Technology Bulk Firmware Update

Older Legrand controllers have less RAM than newer ones, which can create an issue when upgrading the firmware on the older controllers with newer firmware. To address this challenge, Raritan added an option that will shut down some services to free up RAM and allow the upgrade to run. Power IQ will automatically enable this option when appropriate.

Residual Current Monitoring (RCM) Type B

Power IQ 9.1 collect total AC and DC current residual current readings from Raritan PDUs with RCM Type B sensors.
